Fall snuck up on me fast. In NC it didn’t FEEL like fall. It was still 70-85 degrees when I was there, and although the leaves were starting to turn, it still felt like a transition. Being back in the Chicagoland area, the weather is cooling off, it’s officially sweater weather (and coat weather, lets be honest), and I have been thinking of Fall activities. I really want to do all the outdoor fall activities before it’s too cold! So I’ve compiled a short list of activities for fall. These are ideas to do with your significant other or friends!
1. Visit a Pumpkin Patch
We did this today to pick out pumpkins for Ethan’s parents front porch. It was fun to get outside, walk around, see all the kiddos with their parents, and see all the pumpkin desserts and treats.
2. Carve or Paint Pumpkins
I am not a pumpkin carver, but I painted pumpkins with my friends a couple of years ago, and it was so fun! It’s easy and let’s your creative side come out.
3. Make a charcuterie board (wine optional but encouraged)
I did this with two friends last weekend, and our charcuterie board was EPIC. Get a good mix of cheese, meat, fruits, veggies, nuts, a nice fruit spread, and I highly recommend adding Chick-fil-a nuggets! 😛
4. Visit a corn maze
I’ve actually never been to a corn maze, but I think I’m going this weekend, and I’m so excited.
5. Go on a walk and view all the fall foliage and colors
This is so easy and FREE! I’ve loved walking around the past few days to get out of the house, relieve some stress, and look at all the beautiful trees.
6. Take a trip to the mountains – there’s nothing like fall leaves and colors in the mountains!
The mountains in the fall are beautiful. There are so many affordable AirBnB’s in the mountains, that a weekend getaway may be the best medicine for these times.
7. Make an apple cider cocktail, and cheers to Autumn
Delish has a list of 23 Apple Cider cocktails here! If you like Whiskey there’s a recipe, there’s a margarita recipe, and a mimosa recipe. I want to try them all!
8. Build a bonfire (naturally or in a fire pit) and make some smores
I had my first smore in a long time, maybe ever honestly, a few weeks ago! You’re never too old to enjoy a good treat! 🙂
9. Build a cozy palette of blankets or fort and watch Halloween movies
I’m not a horror film kind of gal, I’m more of a Disney or kids type of Halloween movie gal. On my list: Halloweentown, Hocus Pocus, and Casper (again).
10. Go on a Picnic
Fall and Spring are the best times to picnic in my opinion. It’s not too hot or cold, and you can enjoy the outdoors!
What’s on your fall bucketlist?
