Lately, as we’ve actually been having spring weather, I’ve been wearing some of my favorite lightweight jackets – jean jackets, leather jackets, and anorak/rain jackets (because it rains a lot in the Spring… and now in Raleigh just all the time lol). I decided to put together a little lightweight outwear / jacket blog post to share some of my favorite styles with you all – leather jackets, jean jackets, rain jackets, blazers, lightweight quilted jackets and trench coats. These are jacket styles that I wear season after season, so once you invest in any of these, you can wear them year after year!
Jean Jacket
Jean jackets are just the perfect casual outfit layer of warmth. I purchased a jcrew one a few years ago, and I love it. I have a more classic fit jean jacket, but I know the trend is the bulkier / boyfriend fit jean jacket. Those can be cute as well, but I prefer the more fitted style because it goes along with my personal style and I know it’s not just a trend.
Classic Leather Jacket
I love a classic leather jacket! I purchased mine my junior year of college (yes, that was 8 years ago) in Italy, and it has lasted and still looks fantastic. I always get tons of compliments on it. If you can’t just bop on over to Italy, here are some great faux leather, leather & suede jackets that I love, too! All but one are under $200 with a lot being under $100!
Rain Jackets / Anoraks
I have two Anorak style jackets and always receive so many compliments on these. These are great for cooler days and light rain. I linked all styles and colors at varying price points from Amazon, Tuckernuck and ShopBop.
Other Spring Jackets
I found some other cute Spring jackets that didn’t fit into the above categories like some adorable blazers, light quilted jackets and great trench coats. Some of these from Loft are on sale currently for 40% off! These are all classic pieces that can be worn spring after spring.
Here are some style ideas for a leather jacket and jean jacket that I’ve worn recently.
